SEEDING??

Church leaders criticize fraud in churches

It sounded like a mere joke when Vice President Emerson ‘Ngwena’ Mnangagwa mocked and later criticised the newly founded Pentecostal churches in Masvingo’s Mucheke Stadium recently.

In the company of Andrew Utaunashe and Nehemia Mutendi, Mnangagwa outspokenly said, “These church leaders with me here are the real men of God, not those who are mushrooming all over these days looting people via deceptive miracles”.

The ‘seed’ as it is referred to in the churches and mentioned as ‘fraud’ in the courts of law, has been one deriving aspect towards keeping huge followings in the mushrooming Pentecostal churches though it has proven beyond doubt that prophetic giants have found a new home in the courts of law because of disputes over these seeds with their impatient followers with the worst being Hubert angels who eloped to England.

The Chronicle wrote on the 12th of December 2014 that Prophet Angel has been sued over Benty worth US$300 000 which he had conned devoted followers for which he later fled the pending criminal offence whereas iHarare unmasked on May 3 2015 that Magaya is facing a US$2 million lawsuit by a Harare couple over seeding.

Caught up in fog of faith, thousands have given as seeds their houses, expensive cars and life savings to the prophets after being spun yards about their gifts giving back many times more.

POMP and extravagance is the signature of Zimbabwe’s mushrooming prosperity gospel of preachers. Millions of Zimbabweans have been sucked into their web on the promise of riches” said Reverend Donald Chengeto of Dutch Reformed Church

“As a man of God I can testify that they are indeed fruits that one can bear from seeding, but this gospel being preached these days that you should bring a certain asset so the pastor can use it for personal use, I am only seeing it from these young pastors as they are after material things” said an elder of the Seventh Adventist Church Mayibongwe Dhliwayo

Well it might have worked for a few but the truth is millions are still hanging in blind faith as they are still waiting for their time to arrive so they would enjoy the fruits of the so called seeds.
